About the Author

Mark Constantine has been a keen birder since the 1970s, and is
the managing director of cosmetics retailer Lush. In 2000, he invited
fellow bird watchers Arnoud van den Berg and Magnus Robb to join him in
forming The Sound Approach, who have since amassed a collection of over
30,000 recordings of more than 100 bird species, with a particular focus on
the Western Paleartic Region. The Sound Approach aim to popularise and
raise standards in the use of sounds in bird identification, and also
receive major contributions from renownded birders, Dick Forsman and
Killian Mullarney.
