De Japanse Hideyuki Niwa groeide op tussen de bloemen. Van jongs af vertrouwd met hun kwaliteiten, kwetsbaarheden en mogelijkheden leek floral designer worden een logische volgende stap. Op zijn twintigste studeerde hij af aan Tokio's Flower College, wat meteen ook deuren opende bij Kamon Flower Gate Co Ltd; een rijke en vruchtbare werkomgeving waar zijn talent alleen maar aanscherpte. Momenteel is Niwa chief designer bij het respectabele Floreal Opaque Marunouchi, gespecialiseerd in het aankleden van huwelijksceremonies en hotels, zowel in Japan als in het buitenland. De internationale wedstrijden waaraan hij deelneemt zijn persoonlijke krachtmetingen. Hij jongleert, construeert en experimenteert met bloemen. Zijn broer en co-ontwerper Sinji steunt hem in deze constante zoektocht. Als vennoten werken ze samen onder de naam 'Mixture'.
