Synopsis

Information Processing in Design tackles the problem of creating proper information systems for designers. Given the ill-defined nature of design problems, how do designers enrich their knowledge base during the design process, what triggers their queries for information, what strategies do they use, and what issues influence their information seeking behavior? Answers to these questions are found through a series of empirical studies--not just theoretical answers, but also multiple prototypes of tested software tools, which are described in detail.
