Edges of the text block are clean. Binding is tight and square. This is not a remainder, not a library discard. Van rappard was the oly Dutch artist able to sustain a friendship with Vincent van Gogh. For 5 years (1881-1885) the two artists truggled in obscurity. The course of their relationship is recorded by Vincent in his famous letters to van Rappard.
