About the Author

Francesco Palermo, Ph.D. (1998), University of Innsbruck, is Head of the Institute for Comparative Federalism of Eurac Research, Bolzano/Bozen and Professor of Comparative Public Law at the University of Verona. He has over 200 publications in several languages, including 10 monographs, particularly in comparative, Italian and European constitutional law, minority rights, cross-border cooperation, federalism and regionalism. Alice Valdesalici is senior researcher at the Institute for Comparative Federalism of Eurac Research, Bolzano/Bozen. She got her PhD in Constitutional Law (2016) from the University of Verona and is a qualified lawyer. She has been a visiting scholar at the Institut dEstudis de lAutogovern (IEA) in Barcelona and at the German Research Institute for Public Administration (FÖV) in Speyer. Annika Kress is researcher at the Institute for Comparative Federalism of Eurac Research, Bolzano/Bozen. Her main research interests are institutional innovation and participatory democracy, comparative federalism and comparative constitutionalism.
