Synopsis

This dictionary is a supplement to the "Dictionnaire Latin-Francais" by F. Gaffiot. It contains 8500 words and is based on the reading of a great number of texts of 150 authors from Western and Central Europe, notably Bude, Calvin, Erasmus, Ficino, Lipsius, Luther, Melanchthon, More, Petrarch, Pico della Mirandola, Politian, Valla, Vives and Zwingli. Particular attention is paid to the variety of the basic texts: literature, correspondence, history, law, philosophy, theology and science.
