Synopsis
The Splintering Frame is a lively collection of ten paired short stories by modern and contemporary authors. Some of them are stylish, some witty, some entertaining, some puzzling and even disturbing, so there is something for everyone in this anthology: love, hope, conflict and disillusionment. You may even expect the unexpected. Each story, and pair of stories, is accompanied by activities aimed at language improvement, skills practice and in-depth study of the outstanding literary features of the texts. The pairing of the stories on the basis of theme and/or form and style will encourage comparative study, personal interpretation and meaningful communication in the class.
