Synopsis

About the Author

I am Joe Hester from Conecuh County Alabama; which is located in the far South of the State. I come from a writing family. POACHER II is my seventh book written since my retirement three years ago. I am disabled due to Parkinson's disease, Diabetes, C.O.P.D., and various old man ailments. I graduated high school with a “D” grade average due to having various attention deficits and hyper active issues which were undiagnosed and treatment was unheard of in that day. As I grew older, I learned in my own special way until I was of average intelligence. I wrote and composed folk, country, mellow rock, and gospel lyrics for over forty years, without having a single one recorded in a professional studio. When forced to retire due to leg problems related to Parkinson's and cardiovascular problems, I was miserable while sitting at home doing not much of anything. My Wife, Jan, and I now live in a mobile home located in a South Butler county Al. town of McKenzie. We are not wealthy but have enough if we spend our money wisely. I can't afford to promote my books by any other means than word of mouth and having them shown in online book stores. Evidently, I am blessed with an overactive imagination. I love to write fiction; which is all I write. From old Wild West outlaws to alien outlaws from the vast universes of universes which float along in space. I write Spiritual Fiction, country folk Fiction, and stay engrossed in my current projects. After publishing six books, I became aware that software word suggestions must be double checked for accuracy. So in my spare time I weed out the incorrect suggested words from my previous manuscripts. That is a lesson I shall never forget. As an old saying goes, we live and learn. I have been told that my books hold the reader’s attention from cover to cover. I'm glad that they do. Even though I can't afford to promote or market my books; I continue to write. It makes me feel as if I am going to work when I sit at my computer writing. A man is nothing without hope. I recommend that readers buy my books for the creative authenticity of a farm boy’s imagination. It's not every day one discovers their ability to put the same imagination that held them back in school to good creative use. It is certainly a remarkable feat for a previous D average student to become a novelist and novella author. For the readers that know me; thank you for your feedback. Sincerely, Joe Hester,
