Born in Burgos (Spain) and living in New York, Fernando Renes has been devoted to the world of drawing since 2000. His drawings, mostly watercolors, are delciously opaque, simple, obvious, uneventful. The drawings are always plain and forthright without metaphor or irony. Everything belongs to the simple, raw, innocent, and direct realms of drawing and imagination. His drawings procure and negotiate a world full of wild and jarring discontinuities, desires, repulsions, fears, and humor; a world ready and waiting for the image in animation.
