Synopsis
Helena and Hrvoje Njiric utilize the material of planning as if they were DJs of architecture. Their non-temporal vision of history enables them to assemble all sorts of references in a bold sampler of architectures. Each resource of history is reactivated via its "palette" in order to generate inventive and unexpected devices. Their innovations are mainly based on recombining the known and on dealing with pre-existing data. The buildable material itself can be worked in pixel form, with quantities of definable information and qualities, defining the project not from initial masses or solids, but from basic patters of intervention. The project thus moves from being a closed object to being an open process in time, in which - like a piece of software - architects only design their original frames of reference.
