Synopsis
Rogelio Ceron locks himself in the back to take care of a fig tree near the end of the war. While the war, he took several men to get them shot, until he met the look of hate of a child who is reluctant to let his father be taken, a look that assures will kill him when he grows up. It's a story about guilt, forgiveness and mockery, that sentenced the fate of any man.

About the Author
Ramiro Pinilla (Bilbao, 1923-2014) tuvo un fulgurante reconocimiento en los años sesenta con Las ciegas hormigas (Premio Nadal 1960 y Premio de la Crítica) y con Seno (finalista del Premio Planeta 1971). Tras ese comienzo exitoso, decidió editar en pequeños sellos durante más de treinta años. Hubo que esperar a la aparición de la excepcional Verdes valles, colinas rojas (Tusquets Editores, 2004 y 2005), una trilogía compuesta por La tierra convulsa, Los cuerpos desnudos y Las cenizas del hierro (Premio Euskadi, Premio Nacional de Narrativa), para que Pinilla volviera al lugar que le correspondía en las letras españolas. Posteriormente publicó La higuera, Antonio B. el Ruso, ciudadano de tercera, Aquella edad inolvidable (Premio Euskadi) y Los cuentos. Y en 2009 inició una original serie policiaca compuesta por Sólo un muerto más, El cementerio vacío y Cadáveres en la playa. En 2023, en el centenario de su nacimiento, Tusquets Editores publica la novela inédita El hombre de la guerra, y recupera ahora la emotiva e inolvidable Quince años.
