"Si es posible, publicad mis versos. Tengo el presentimiento de que muerto seré más y mejor conocido que vivo." Con esta recomendación a su amigo Ferrán, Gustavo era enterrado y Bécquer iba a nacer para la poesía. Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer es un poeta sencillo y contemporáneo. Sus "Rimas", aparentemente fáciles, son el testimonio de un hombre que poseía unas extraordinarias dotes de expresión y una gran capacidad de síntesis: la difícil sencillez de lo auténtico. El secreto de Bécquer está en haber sabido llegar por igual al pueblo, a la burguesía, a los poetas y a los estudiosos de su obra, y el misterio de esas famas paralelas no tiene equivalente en toda la poesía española.
