Traducido y prologado por José Antonio Caballero López, el presente volumen reúne sus obras relacionadas con Sócrates, de quien, como Platón, fue discípulo. Como la platónica (BT 8268), la APOLOGIA narra los últimos días del maestro; BANQUETE rememora uno de estos actos de camaradería, no se sabe si real o ficticio, en el que participan Sócrates y sus amigos; RECUERDOS DE SOCRATES, en fin, refiere hasta cuarenta y nueve conversaciones del filósofo con otros tantos personajes sobre las cuestiones más variadas y se cuenta sin duda entre las fuentes principales para una aproximación a su singular figura.
