Synopsis
Between 1955 and 1965 Ramon Masats toured the geography of Spain with his camera. A commission on national values for an illustrated Gazette that allowed the development of a new, synthetic language, accurate in content and splendid in its graphics. Masats' work coincides with the end of Franco's the regime autarky and with the international opening designed by the Ministry of Education and Tourism. Visit Spain was that first message that tourist propaganda used. This catalogue allows us to take a look at that Spain from the perspective of one of the most decisive photographers in our country.

About the Author
14 v 1 Ramón Masats (Caldes de Montbui, Barcelona, 1931) es en uno de los protagonistas de la renovación del reportaje documental de los años sesenta. El ensayo fotográfico Los Sanfermines, iniciado en 1955, es una obra básica en su carrera. En 1964 publica Viejas historias de Castilla la Vieja, que incluye textos de Miguel Delibes, y expone junto a Carlos Saura. A partir de 1965 se acerca al cine y la televisión (El que enseña, Tropical Spanish o Conozca usted España). En 1981 volvió a dedicarse plenamente a la fotografía, pero esta vez a color. Su trabajo ha sido reconocido con diversos premios, entre ellos el Premio Nacional de Fotografía
