Contents: The search for petroleum requires a multidisciplinary approach. The various geological, geophysical and geochemical surveys point towards the most geographical locations, geological structures, depositional environments and periods for hydrocarbon accumulations. Therefore, an encyclopaedia with multidisciplinary approach is very much in need. This encyclopaedia fulfills all these criteria. It is a mine of information which is comprehensively dealt with in 16 volumes. This will meet the requirements of geologists, Geophysists, geochemists, science students, researchers, libraries and information centres. This will help to promote geophysical understanding. Vol. 1 : ExplorationThis volume is designed as an encyclopaedic dictionary. The uses of geophysical terms are its subject matter. This also aims at to make the interconnection among the different disciplines of exploration Geophysics like survey, data acquisition, processing, arranged in alphabetical order. Vol. 2 : Processing, Interpretation and Reservoir EngineeringSeismic data processing, Seismic data interpretation, Reservoir engineering and five useful appendices are also appended in the book. These are, geophysics role in oil exploration, Logging data, etc. Vol. 3 : GeophoneThere are eleven main chapters in the volume. These areReview of geophone, Geophone response, Geophone design criteria, Testing and measurement, Selection and grouping, Distortion and its measurement, Geophone, Generation of seismic waves, Hydrophones, etc. Vol. 4 : ProductionAZ terms pertaining to the field are arranged and well explained in alphabetical order. This volume is designed as an encyclopaedic dictionary of the terms. Vol. 5 : Geochemistry, Petroleum Geology and PetrographyPetroleum geochemistry, Petroleum geology, Petrology etc. and five appendices are also attached related to the field. Vol. 6 : Surveying, Geological Field System, Seismic Stratigraphy and Log Analysis of Subsurface GeologySurveying, Geophysical field system, Seismic stratigraphy, Log analysis of Subsurface geology. Vol. 7 : Drilling and Drilling Fluids, Well Cementing, Production and Transport of Oil as Natural GasDrilling and drilling fluids, Well cementing, Production and transport of oil and natural gas.
