Georges Van Vrekhem is a Flemish speaking Belgian. He became quite well-known as a journalist, poet and playwright. He became acquainted with the works of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother in 1964. In 1970 he joined the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry, and in 1978 he moved to Auroville, which has been his home ever since. He has translated into Dutch several books of Sri Aurobindo, the Mother and Satprem, as well as selected writings from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. He is also the author of Beyond Man – Life and the works of Sri Aurobindo.
The author puts the present situation of humanity in the perspective of the evolutionary vision of Sri Aurobindo and the mother. The meaning of history, the globalisation of our planet, the values represented by east and west their meeting and reciprocal fertilisation.
