Synopsis
In 1971 a combination of circumstances brought India into conflict with Pakistan. Those fourteen days of war brought out the best in the Indian Navy and this book is a chronicle of the deeds, courage and inventiveness displayed by its men. The elections of December 1970 in Pakistan had invested the Awami League with a clear mandate, but it led to the arrest of its leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by the "West Pakistani Junta". What was suspected by many observers as the "Tilt" of USA in favour of Pakistan has now been confirmed through the published word. Pakistan was used as a friendly tool for a connection with China. This, in essence, is the story of a momentous chapter in the history of India and its Navy and its men who made it their finest hour.
