This text responds to the emergence of a new course in the ME curriculum which combines electrical components such as actuators and sensors with mechanical elements in a system. The book combines a treatment of mechatronics with a collection of class-tested case studies taken directly from projects students at Hartford College have done within industry. These practical case studies meet the need in ME for applied, design-oriented material which give the student a sense of what engineers do in actual practice. The technical and mathematical content of the course is appropriate for senior/first year graduate students. Contents same as US/UK editions.
