Rabindranath Tagore was an Indian poet, writer, and philosopher. His writings are considered the epitome of Bengali literature and several of his short stories and novels have been translated into many languages and have subsequently been adapted into hit movies. He is best remembered for: Gora, Kabuliwala, The Home and the World, and Choker Bali. He was the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize for Literature, largely for the English translation of the Gitanjali. He was also conferred a knighthood by the British Empire, which he renounced to protest against the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.
When Binodini, a beautiful young widow, goes to stay with a young couple, she captivates the husband and alienates him from his wife.
