S. A. KELKAR, PhD (Michigan, USA), is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and the Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai. He has over 35 years of experience in the field of information systems, information technology, and software engineering. Earlier, he has taught as a full timer at IITB, Mumbai, NIBM, Mumbai, and NITIE, Mumbai. He also teaches postgraduate courses in the area of operations research, and information resources management at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Dr. Kelkar has been a consultant to organizations such as Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Aptech and Voltas. Besides this text, he has authored six books, all published by PHI Learning, New Delhi.
