About the Author

Chennakesava R. Alavala, M.E. (Mech.); M.Tech (CAD/CAM); Ph.D. (Mech.); Ph.D. (CAD/CAM), is Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad, India. With 16 years of teaching experience he has published more than a hundred technical papers in reputed national and international journals. Professor Alavala is also the author of four books, including CAD/CAM: Concepts and Applications, and Finite Element Methods: Basic Concepts and Applications (both published by PHI Learning). His areas of research interest include fuzzy logic, neural networks, genetic algorithms, finite element methods, CAD/CAM, and robotics.
