Synopsis
This book is the first collection of personal essays written by Feng Xiaogang, a famous Chinese director. At the age of about 50, Feng Xiaogang interprets the word ""success"" with his accomplishments no matter as a director, scriptwriter or an actor. Therefore, he just wants to console himself with words, thus the book. He says ""this is a wood engraved with the youth memories"". In writing, he meets with his memories again and boldly writes them out. Although some are just the fragmentary flashbacks, they can fully present the author's complete feelings on youth and life.
