Synopsis
As a practical reference book compiled for foreign learners of Chinese, this book collects over 500 frequently-used short sentences and fixed sentence patterns in spoken Chinese, explains their meanings, points out usages and gives examples of application. Based on the characteristics of Chinese learning by foreigners, the book collects a large number of common sentence patterns whose exact meanings are difficult to be found in the general reference books, whose literal meanings are different from their actual meanings and whose meanings are beyond explanation by general grammar rules. The book is of a strong practical applicability and can be used as a material by learners of Chinese at intermediate or above levels and as a reference book by teachers teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
