Synopsis
作为犹太思想家，斐洛坚信自己的宗教是一种普世宗教；认为各种哲学之间有共同的思想基础，那就是来自上帝的真理；而许多希腊哲学思想在摩西五经中早已有所阐述，因此，借用希腊哲学观念和语言来向大众论述摩西五经是合理的，当时已经有许多人这样做。应该说，作品中对希腊哲学大量的精当使用：比如在本书正文第一部分“论摩西有关创世的叙述”关于创世的第七天的讨论中，对数字七的讨论涉及新毕达哥拉斯主义以及雅典政治家梭伦、希波克拉底、柏拉图等人的思想；在论述上帝用尘土造人时，吸收了柏拉图的理念论中的分有模仿说、亚里士多德的潜能和现实学说、斯多亚的世界主义和自然法思想，批判了伊壁鸠鲁的快乐学说（尽管有曲解），都表明了斐洛对其它文化的开放、出自内心的尊重、批判地接纳的态度。
