Synopsis
Studies of the integrity of parts used in industrial sectors require successive inspections at various stages of a part's life cycle; these inspections may be destructive or non-destructive, depending on the objective of the study. Destructive inspections, also known as destructive testing (DT), are effective for characterizing materials and assemblies; however, in most cases-such as in the aerospace industry- we must keep the parts to be inspected intact; therefore, we rely on non-destructive testing, which involves using non-invasive methods to determine the integrity of a structural material or part. This type of testing allows us to detect any surface or internal anomalies in a mechanical part efficiently and quickly.
