Synopsis

This collection of works traces a vital journey. Plants, blindness, a cobbler's shop that resembles dreams, some characters around the sacred, the border between reality and artifice. Pablo Messiez's works never seem to rest in comfort, nothing is entirely as it seems, nothing is too stable, everything is on the verge of transformation. To progress, the writing feeds on poetry, painting, biography, cultural peripheries. The characters emerge endearingly and, at the same time, show us their reverse, their seam, warn what we see is fiction, an irreverent celebration of imagination. Indeed, there is an accumulated power in these works that has generated beautiful, unforgettable spectacles.
