Fusarium Head Blight (FHB) is a devastating fungal disease caused by Fusarium sp, especially F. graminearum. Current management strategy mainly depends on the use of chemical fungicides. However, their successive and frequent application has caused concerns such as the emergency of resistant species, residual toxicity and environmental problems. A number of bacterial and fungal species have been already identified as potential BCAs against the FHB. Among them, Bacillus and Trichoderma based Biocontrol agent (BCAs) have been gained interests due to their advantages. Despite of many scientists' hard efforts, a little BCAs targeting FHB are now commercially available. Most studies are still limited in the laboratory and greenhouse experiments and have not yet been widely applied in agricultural practice. From this point of view, it seems to be necessary not only to deal with the FHB but also to review the latest BCAs (mainly Bacillus and Trichoderma) developments against this serious disease. In this book, we will discuss the concept of FHB, the pathogens and toxins, the control methods, Bacillus and Trichoderma based BCAs and current challenges and future prospects.
