This research seeks to investigate the possibility of (re)connecting a network that existed around typography and its printed matter generated in Minas Gerais. We discuss how design can contribute to presenting and expanding a network of people and institutions with the use of collaborative and social digital technologies as a new support for disseminating and systematising information in the process of rescuing and building collective memories. To this end, the research studied the history of typography in the cities of Mariana and Ouro Preto/MG, understood as a network that marked the transformation of Minas Gerais society in the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as analysing current experiences of places and institutions that keep typography alive in the state. By proposing a methodology combined with the use of information technologies, the aim is to expand the potential of these connections, going beyond the physical and territorial dimensions of Minas Gerais, by sharing memories and knowledge.
