The adolescents of Karnataka’s ethnic communities - such as the Siddhi, Tibetan, and ethnic - exhibit unique physiological traits that hold significant potential for sports talent identification. Siddhi youth of African descent, often possess mesomorphic builds, higher muscle mass and superior anaerobic capacity, making them ideal for sprint and power sports. Tibetan adolescents, adapted to high-altitude ancestry, show enhanced lung function and red blood cell counts, supporting endurance sports. ethnic, known for local heritage, exhibit agility and endurance suited for power and strength sports. However, socio-economic barriers, limited access to training, and lack of awareness hinder their athletic development. A culturally sensitive, physiology-based talent identification system—integrating VO₂ max testing, blood pressure, resting heart rate, strength assessments and motor skill analysis—combined with community outreach and government support, can harness this potential. Tailored coaching and inclusive policies will ensure these youth are recognized and nurtured for national sporting excellence.
