Self-synchronisation in Cloud Database Systems: What are the new challenges? - Softcover

9786206369066: Self-synchronisation in Cloud Database Systems: What are the new challenges?

Synopsis

This book aims to compare the challenges of fine tuning queries in traditional relational databases with the new challenges of tuning database queries in the cloud computing environment. It suggests the use of semantic web technology, with adjustments to the DBX tool model, to carry out query tuning activities automatically while respecting the traditional rules and the new rules of this environment. This raises the question of whether there is still a need for a DBA in this cloud environment. With this study we begin our research into database autotuning in the cloud environment, give a brief explanation of this environment and suggest further studies that could be carried out.
