The materials which consists of more than one primary ferroic properties i.e. ferromagnetism, ferroelectricity, ferroelasticity are known as multiferroic materials. These materials provide possibilities for potential applications in storage devices, sensors, spintronic devices and photocatalytic reactions. BiFeO3 is the only multiferroic material which has a G-type antiferromagnetic Neel temperature ~653K and ferroelectric Curie temperature ~1100K and both are above room temperature. BiFeO3 contains multiferroic properties at room temperature but it also shows large current leakage due to defects, oxygen vacancy and low ferroelectric properties which limits its properties. To decrease these limitations, doping of transition material can be done in place of Iron. This book represents the synthesis as well as the structural, optical and photocatalytic studies of Bismuth Ferrite (BiFeO3) and Nickel doped Bismuth Ferrite (BiFe1-xNixO3) nanoparticles.
