This work arises from the low results obtained in the census evaluations, noting that they have difficulties in understanding and interpreting the text they read. The objective of this project is to have teachers who apply innovative strategies for the comprehension of narrative texts at an inferential level. The strategies are taught until they achieve autonomous readers who control their own comprehension. For its construction, several stages are taken into account, such as Development of the SWOT matrix, and research that supports the problem posed and the solution. Also, it has two parts, the first is the conceptual framework where the contributions of researchers about reading comprehension are considered, and the second is the innovation project. As for the results, we have trained teachers who apply innovative reading comprehension strategies, improve their pedagogical practice and implement their classrooms with bibliographic material of narrative texts. Likewise, we manage to overcome the above-mentioned problems and improve the results in reading comprehension, promoting the formation of strategic readers.
