Solid waste management has become one of the major problems we are facing today. The rapid increase in the generation of huge quantity of waste is one aspect of the environmental crisis. This is accompanying with recent global development with respect to rapid urbanization and population growth which has resulted into generation of large quantity of organic solid waste. The function of earthworms on soil ecosystem differs considerably with different earthworm species that are linked to their strategy, In this review, An experimental study was conducted to obtain the vermicompost using partially decomposed Industrial waste, Agriculture waste, Market waste, Hospital waste and Household waste that were acted on by the earthworms for 20 to 30 days.
