The work reported in this book contains the introduction and brief history of the topic viscothermoelastic spherical structures. With the help of mathematical modeling which was shown in the second chapter, we have studied different problems based on stress-free and rigidly fixed vibrations of toroidal and spheroidal modes of the solid sphere, hollow sphere, spherical curved plate and functionally graded free and forced vibrations. Free vibrations are generated from frequency equations which are obtained from stress-free and rigidly fixed thermally insulated and isothermal boundary conditions. The most authentic part of the book is the application part, which has been implemented on functionally graded materials. For numerical computations, we take copper and polymethyl methacrylate materials. The vibrations have been presented graphically in respect of natural frequencies, frequency shift, thermoelastic damping, displacements, temperature change, and stresses. The viscothermoelastic spherical structures can be operated in complex environments coupled and generalized systems with acoustic media in many areas such as rocket motors, nuclear reactors, oil storage tanks, navigation, etc.
