The wind turbine (wt) system is a modern and an efficient system that generates several megawatts from a single turbine unit. The power generation is reached 5 megawatts per turbine, and turbine with 10 megawatts is under construction. the problem in wind turbine system is the fluctuation of wind and irregularity in speed. therefore, this present work provide method to control the speed of horizontal axis wind turbine and therefore control the generation. In this work, the simulation models of horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) at variable speed with doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) are built by using matlab/simulink software (2016b) as well as the power electronic converters are used to control the speed of turbine and the generation at a constant value. Two control methods are applied, field-oriented control (FOC) with proportional-integral (PI) controllers and space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM), to control the speed of wind turbine electrically and maintain the frequency and the syst
