Synopsis

Solar electric or photovoltaic technology is one of the biggest renewable energy resources to generate electrical power and the fastest growing power generation. The purpose of this work is to analyze the interface of photovoltaic system to grid, the power electronics and the method to track the maximum power point (MPP) of the solar panel. The simulations of the PV with maximum power point, boost converter and inverter were performed by varying the irradiance and with battery energy storage also. The battery control system was also designed in order to show characteristics of the battery. Finally, the PV performance with constant irradiance and with variable irradiance was analyzed.
