Synopsis

Dolores and Jacinta are sisters-in-law that suffer from different kinds of pain. The first one does not have a clear place in her husband's heart nor a simple life surrounded by so many children; the second suffers from the void of motherhood and sadness. It will be Inés, one of Dolores' daughters, who will tip the balance and decide the destinies, loves and losses not only of these women, but of all the inhabitants. 

Raíces del mal (Roots of Evil) takes place in a village where grudges are deeply rooted in the land, where stories become entangled with superstitions when those roots touch each other and reality is suspended between veils of evil or mere coincidence.

Paola G. Gasca es comunicóloga por la Universidad Iberoamericana, cuenta con la especialidad en Periodismo y Televisión. Su vida profesional se ha enfocado en la creación para medios audiovisuales; es guionista, productora y, más recientemente, estratega digital. Es inquieta, multifacética, y todo lo lleva al terreno que más domina: el poder de la palabra. Hoy inicia su camino como escritora con esta primera novela, Raíces del mal. 

Paola G. Gasca holds a degree in Communication from the Universidad Iberoamericana and a specialization in Journalism and Television. Her professional career has been rooted in audiovisual creation; she has worked as a screenwriter and producer and, more recently, as a digital strategist. Curious and multifaceted by nature, she brings everything she does back to the realm she knows best: the power of the word. She now begins her path as a novelist with this debut work, Raíces del mal.
