Synopsis
In this novel, Payno portrays nineteenth-century Mexico - from the same environment to the description of the characters - and unfolds a romantic story about the impossible love between Mariana del Sauz and Juan Robreo. This one, driven by adversity and its unfortunate destiny, decides to create Los Dorados, a gang of famous thieves who robbed the rich and gave to the poor, and who also belonged to Los bandidos de Ro Fro, a sheaf commanded by a colonel who served General Santa Anna himself.
