The award-winning feature film "Gegen Die Wand (Head On)" by the Hamburg-based filmmaker Fatih Akin led to the project of a documentary film portraying the diverse and vibrant music scene of Istanbul: "Crossing the Bridge: The Sound of Istanbul". The photographs in this volume were taken during the shooting of the film and consequently reveal facets of a city that has fascinated the director from his early childhood days. "Istanbul" includes 4 audio CDs. The musical backdrop to these impressions is provided by a selection of tracks from Fatih Akin's personal collection, including original and previously unreleased out-takes from this film.
