Synopsis:
Irish photographer Edward Quinn began his career as an aviator and guitarist but turned to photojournalism, working for European press agencies in the 1950s. Moving to the South of France, he photographed the gilded social life of the Cote d'Azur and such glitterati-filled events as the Cannes Film Festival, becoming the godfather of modern paparazzi. This volume presents the full constellation of his pictures, taken at a time when movie stars were still idolized and idealized. Those featured include Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Gary Cooper, Greta Garbo, Rita Hayworth, Rock Hudson, Warren Beatty and Joan Crawford.
