Synopsis

Kinzbach is a village at the end of a narrow valley, in the middle of the dark forests of the Spessart. For many years, Robert has avoided his old home. He has exchanged the oppressive tightness for Berlin's driving freedom. He also had no real reason to return: with his parents at best a split relationship connects him, his youth love ended tragically, with the best school friend he has thrown himself. In the gay subculture of the capital, on the other hand, he finds not only a great love, but also himself. But then he is called to his beloved grandmother's sickbed, and the journey to the province becomes an encounter with the past. The magical wonders of childhood return, but also the wounds that are only scarred on the surface break up again. And dark, deeply buried secrets that should have been better forgotten come to the surface. Robert wanders through sterile hospital rooms, stupid single-family homes, eerie barns and dark forests. In search of himself, he loses himself in a maze of memories - torn apart by the two great loves of his life.
