Synopsis
Between 1914 and 1922, Fernando Pessoa or his alter ego Álvaro de Campos wrote gigantic odes in the space-grabbing style Walt Whitmans under the title The Sensationist Engineer. He sings seas and engines, fertilizers and threshing machines, the technical progress and the mercilessness of acceleration. The fantasies still sublimated in Italian futurism: here they romp unadjusted, blood-covered and manic. A great exalted vocal to technical development that continues to transition into masochistic cheers. In a dialogue with the sensationist engineer should be asked: What chants accompany the social upheavals that digitalisation brings today? Who sings the destruction, who scares, who does she inspire?
