Arbeiten wie Geoffrey Hendricks Wolkenbilder, Al Hansons Venus-Bilder und Ben Pattersons Reise-Arbeiten erinnern in ihrer Sehnsucht nach Mythos, Transzendenz und Freiheit an die Werke von Romantikern wie Johan Christian Clausen Dahl, Philipp Otto Runge, Caspar David Friedrich und Ludwig Tieck. Ebenso wie den Romantikern ging es den Künstlern der Fluxus-Bewegung darum, mit Ironie, Phantasie und den Glauben an eine humane Utopie die Gesellschaft zu verändern: »Oh ihr ledernen Alltagsmenschen ersinnt immerhin Regeln!
