Synopsis
Günther is six years old when his relatives bring him to Bethel. With fully trained intelligence, he cannot speak a single word. Because it lacked sun and calcium, it is a misshape from head to feet. "A nothing is you, nothing more than a nothing", the grandmother said to him.
The people of Bethel disagree: for them, he is Günther, a serious person dependent on others, a needy boy whose spirit has received wings, a very hungry in class, a friend, a Christian. When the word euthanasia is whispered in Bethel and the doctors commission is already in the door, Günther has survived the worst: he now knows that not healthy bones or healthy mind decide the value of a life, but only the one who created it. So he fights on the side of Bodelschwinghs for the distressed valley of love. It should not become a valley of death.
