Synopsis

Birgit Lutz has been touring Svalbard for 16 years. As an expedition director, she brings visitors to the history, extreme landscape and diverse wildlife of the island and involves her guests in a research project initiated by her. As a human, it can be enchanted again and again: by the bluish light that illuminates the ice at the beginning of polar summer, by laughing crab divers and cocky sled dogs and from the encounters with the international community in Longyearbyen, where you rarely go out of the house without a rifle because of the ubiquitous polar bears, doors and cars unabandoned. . Through her wise and tender look at her second home far north of the Arctic Circle, Birgit Lutz infects us with her Arctic fever.
