Synopsis

"Clemens von Wedemeyer" makes films loaded with social and political references, assigning a special role to those participating in the process of creation. They are protagonists but very rarely 'actors', an example of the fine line between authenticity and fictionalization in his work. Revealing an intense analysis of film aesthetics and theory, as well as the fundamentals of making and showing films, von Wedemeyer's work exerts a certain fascination in their clear references to prior models, and the tension he creates between reality and artifice in his use of film extras as malleable, yet willful, masses.
