Since 2005, there has been uniform legislation in all Member States of the European Union on how animals can and must be transported in an animal welfare and as gentle as possible. This book addresses precisely this tension field between legal legitimation and social rejection. The author comprehensively illuminates the current legal situation and, due to his many years of experience in the official veterinary control of animal transport, precisely presents the many positive improvements, but at the same time he also shows the still existing and newly added problem areas for the transport of livestock and hobby animals.
