This book was designed to provide adequate knowledge on the subject of cardiovascular diseases for the students of pharmacy and medicine faculty. This book consists of pathophysiology and treatment of hypertension, congestive cardiac failure (CCF), angina pectoris and arrhythmia along with Hypolipidemic and blood coagulation, anticoagulants, thrombolytic and antiplatelet drugs. The content of the book has been prepared such that a student can understand not only the mechanism of action, pharmacological effects and therapeutic uses of drugs but also the pathophysiology of CVD. Most countries face high and increasing rates of cardiovascular disease. A large histological study showed vascular injury accumulates from adolescence, making primary prevention efforts necessary from childhood. By the time that heart problems are detected, the underlying cause is usually quite advanced, having progressed for decades. There is therefore increased emphasis on preventing atherosclerosis by modifying risk factors, such as healthy eating, exercise and avoidance of smoking.

Rajesh Mandade has obtained his M. Pharmacy degree in Pharmacology from SRM University, Chennai, India in the year 2007. At present he is working as Assistant professor at Sudhakarrao Naik Institute of Pharmacy, Pusad. He is author for two books published by LAP. He has published several articles in reputed journals.
