This study was intended to examine farmers’ perception of climate change/variability, the household level impacts of climate change, and local adaptation strategies in the highlands. The study was carried out in Menz Gera Midir district located in the North Shoa Zone of the Amhara Regional State. A total of 180 sample households selected through stratified random sampling procedure were selected and interviewed using a structured survey questionnaire. In addition, 12 focus group discussions and 16 key informant interviews were conducted. Meteorological data that spans for about 30 years was used to analyse the patterns of rainfall and temperature changes.
