Due to this fact this region is regarded as the source region for many weather activities such as thunderstorms, convections, cyclones, etc. Owing to the importance of atmospheric structures in the tropical troposphere many experiments have been conducted at Gadanki (13.5oN, 79.2oE), a tropical station in India, using UHF/VHF radars, which have revealed out some unique features associated with atmospheric turbulent layers and its impact on stratosphere-troposphere exchange (STE), especially during the passage of tropical cyclone/depression and convection. These results are discussed in this thesis.
